Hello, dear readers😊, My name is Bashorat Khaitova, and I am naturally sociable and optimistic.
About my educational and professional background:
I graduated in German language philology in 2014. Thereafter I attended a four-month retraining course at Uzbekistan State World Languages University, where I was able to master English language. During my studying and working years, I attended different kinds of personal and professional development training and courses.
On gaining the
certificate of "Methods of ESL teaching in secondary schools", I
embarked on my teaching profession as an English teacher at the school, where I
conducted classes in groups of 15 students aging 10 to 12. I worked there
for 2 years. That time, I can proudly say, it was one of my
unforgettable joyous moments. I assisted to organize
several kinds of British Holidays and Festivals. The most interesting and
famous one was "Pancake day". I organized it as a competition among
students. Students brought all of the necessary ingredients and presented
English pancake recipes as well as the cooking process; each group assisted one
teacher (for the safety measure).
Furthermore, each school year, one month was called
with subject names. From the 1st of May to the 25th was
"English Month". During the 25 days, all English teachers had to organize
different kinds of interesting games, computations, demo lessons, and festivals
among students. The most popular one was "Musical " which was known
as "Young Talented Voices ". Students from 9th grade performed
the concert. They sang and danced to famous English songs and enjoyed visitors
with their energetic, active, creative performance. After the performance, each
group was nominated. I believe, students like such kind of performance where
they have the opportunity to show their hidden talents.
In addition, once a month, all English teachers attended a session on a variety of topics. The sessions' goal was to share effective teaching and learning methods and techniques. Every month, a different teacher presented a technique or method that he or she found interesting and effective. I presented "How to teach effectively Kinesthetic learners". After the presentation, I received positive feedback from my colleagues.
Then I continued my teaching at Learning Centre. I worked here for two years. Every day I conducted classes in groups of 10/12 students of different ages. All our educators in our center gained perspective Universities Certificates. For instance, "Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning" in the Westminster International University in Tashkent. My colleagues motivated me and I also applied to this course and graduated successfully the first part in 2019.
Thus, it is my
conviction that the theories, methodologies, and technologies that I learned at
WIUT facilitated me in achieving remarkable professional progress and brought more
meaning to my life. In this course, I studied how effectively communicate with
students from diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of abilities. I also gained
the skills such as motivating and directing students to maximum performance by
encouraging a positive and energetic environment.
Moreover, the course
gave me the opportunity to realize my knowledge, potential, and leadership abilities
in my workplace. During the two years in the learning center, I organized a variety
kind of computations, demo lessons, and presentations among students.
Although, I was a member of “Movie Club”. From the results of the students’ voting, I chose the film, and organized movie day once a month. I connected the movie to one topic (tenses, prepositions, new vocabulary, etc.) In that way, students could revise previous topics as well. After the watching with students, we discussed the movie, and they shared their opinions and answered several questions.
Here I have finished my first post with my previous learning and teaching experiences)))
Currently, I am a Department Administrator (in Law department) at WIUT. I intend to continue teaching after completing the course.
