My reflection on the module

This is my final post, and it is about the module Innovating learning and teaching. I thoroughly enjoyed this module and its content. I've picked up a lot of ideas that I'll definitely use in the future, and it's made me very excited.  Although I have thoroughly enjoyed writing posts, the last few weeks have flown by. As this is my final post on my blog, I'd like to summarize and reflect on everything I've learned from this course. My knowledge and skills at the beginning of the module Innovating learning and teaching were very small. I am not going to lie, I never really thought about learning and teaching online could be interesting and enjoyable. This course assisted me in being successful and expanding my knowledge of online learning and teaching. I believe that learning about various tools and platforms piqued my interest in creating the blog and online course.  And there are numerous online tools and platforms that I am aware of and have begun to use success...

Kahoot, Edpuzzle and WordWall

Learning has become more enjoyable in recent years, thanks to the many exciting tools and applications available in this virtual world. Using digital games in education or digital game-based learning is becoming increasingly popular because there is a rise in the variety, availability, and use of digital educational and commercial games (Pivec, 2007). During my study in the Innovating learning and teaching course, I have learned different useful and interesting tools. One of them is Kahoot.  Kahoot is a learning application that provides exciting games, quizzes, and many other opportunities. Quizzes are created and shared within a few minutes. With the help of Kahoot conducting interactive lessons are very simple.  For instance, if you are introducing a new topic, at the beginning of your Kahoot, you may present some key points to introduce new content so students have a better idea of what to expect in this lesson. Kahoot can be used to teach interactive lessons and engage...

Google Classroom

The global education system has undergone significant change. Teachers adapt and implement a variety of strategies in online learning management systems. They incorporate ICT, social media, and web tools in English language teaching. In many countries around the world, teachers use various online tools and learning systems extensively in the classrooms for planning and sharing lesson content, recording attendance, providing assignments, feedback, and grading students' work. In my personal experience, I've used Moodle, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, and so on. I have designed my course in Google Classroom. There are many LMS but I chose Google Classroom because it is easy to use, integrates with a wide range of apps and websites; seamlessly shares and collects Google Workspace documents.  The use of learning management systems such as Google classroom has been one of the vibrating assets to foster teaching-learning situations and technological awareness for the lear...

Article Review

We have read many articles during the course Innovating Learning and Teaching, but I found the article Connectivism to be the most useful in my teaching and learning and decided to write a review on it. As a teacher, I agree with much of what George Siemens says about Connectivism. In his TedxNYED talk on May 3rd,2021, he said, the goal of education is to prepare individuals to be contributing and interactive members of society.  What is Connectivism? Connectivism is a model of learning that can guide first-year advising through ''the integration of principles explored as chaos, network, and complexity, and self-organization theories'' as well as an '' understanding that decisions are based on rapidly altering foundations'' (Siemens, 2004). Connectivism combines previous information with current information to create new meanings and understandings (Siemens, 2004). Elieson (2013) claims that ''one can not learn something new without having first ...

My experince of using technology

I believe that the impact of technology today has completely changed how teachers teach and students learn. Teachers have learned how to use modern devices such as tablets, iPads, Smart Boards, and digital cameras to teach. It is undeniable that technology has had a significant and positive impact on the educational process. My previous experience with technology: So, during my years of teaching at school, I used Google Apps, YouTube, and the Smart Board. To present new topics, I mostly used PowerPoint presentations and the Smart Board. My school audience consisted of young students, which is why I used a variety of colorful images in my slides. Colors, in my opinion, can play an important role in memory. Students can remember which information belongs to which based on the colors. I also used various YouTube videos that were relevant to the topics. They made the lessons more enjoyable and simple to understand. I also mentioned that using technology in my classes, particularly the Sm...

Hello, dear readers😊, My name is Bashorat Khaitova, and I am naturally sociable and optimistic.   About my educational and professional background: I graduated in German language philology in 2014. I worked there for 2 years . That time, I can proudly say, it was one of my unforgettable joyous moments. I assisted to organize several kinds of British Holidays and Festivals.
